Σε 1.043.709 άτομα ανήλθε το σύνολο των εγγεγραμμένων ανέργων τον Οκτώβριο του 2020, σύμφωνα με τον ΟΑΕΔ, έναντι 1.030.411 ατόμων τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2020, αριθμός που μεταφράζεται σε ποσοστιαία μεταβολή της τάξης του 1,29%, αλλά και 6,15% έναντι του Οκτωβρίου 2019, όταν οι εγγεγραμμένοι άνεργοι ήταν 983.200.
Αύξηση των εγγεγραμμένων αλλά και των επιδοτούμενων από τον ΟΑΕΔ ανέργων έφερε τον περασμένο Ιανουάριο η λήξη της εποχικής απασχόλησης κατά τη διάρκεια των εορτών των Χριστουγέννων. Σύμφωνα με τα στατιστικά στοιχεία του ΟΑΕΔ, τον Ιανουάριο οι εγγεγραμμένοι στη λίστα ανεργίας του ΟΑΕΔ έφτασαν το 1.138.791, αυξημένοι κατά 11.702 (1,04%) σε σχέση με τον αντίστοιχο περυσινό μήνα. Αύξηση κατά 10.370 άτομα (0,92%) παρατηρείται και σε σύγκριση με τον αμέσως προηγούμενο μήνα, ήτοι τον Δεκέμβριο του 2019.
Έκρηξη ανεργίας και τον μήνα Αύγουστο του 2019 σημειώθηκε, σύμφωνα με τον κρατικό Οργανισμό Απασχόλησης Εργατικού Δυναμικού (ΟΑΕΔ) και αρμόδιο για την καταμέτρηση της ανεργίας.
